We take immense pride in supporting a highly talented Ukrainian musician Dr. Herman Makarenko in all his creative projects since the year 2000. Maestro Makarenko is laureate of international competition MIMA (Lugano, Switzerland) and International Art Festival (Montreal, Canada, 1998). During his musical voyage Dr. Makarenko has travelled and worked with many of orchestras all over the world including USA, Canada, France, Italy, Czech Republic, Iran, China and Russia.
We have made a tradition to organize two annual Grand Concerts in Ukraine, i.e. “Strauss Concert” on the New Year Eve and “Declaration of Love” as a present to the woman on The International Women’s Day. Kyiv Classic Orchestra is invited to be a performing partner for the celebration of 60th, 65th and 70th anniversaries of the United Nations.
To support the concerts conducted by Maestro Makarenko worldwide, we have registered a specialized company “Kiev Classic Corporation” in the U.K. in 2005 and try best to spread the harmony and beauty around the globe .
On November 29 of 2016, Maestro Herman Makarenko received the coveted honor given by UNESCO, UNESCO’s Artist for Peace. The solemn event was held right in the heart of Paris - UNESCO Headquarters. The ceremony was attended by the permanent representatives of the Member States of UNESCO, members of the UNESCO Secretariat, Goodwill Ambassadors, guests of the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the UNESCO and many other distinguished persons.
It does not come as a surprise, as both Suvra Chakraborty and Maestro believe in the power of music to unite people and nations. Suvra Chakraborty stated: “I sincerely believe that the appeal of good music is universal and cannot be bound by geographical borders.”
